"The Walking Dead" season 7 may explore new and exciting storylines for Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Throughout the past couple of seasons, the hit AMC series has focused mostly on Norman Reedus' character Daryl Dixon and Andrew Lincoln's character Rick Grimes.

This time around, Design N Trend is speculating that big things could also be in store for the two female characters.

In season 6, Michonne and Rick got into a relationship with each other. However, it's still possible that the villainous character Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) targeted Rick and killed him.

If this will be revealed to be the case, it's highly possible that Michonne will be devastated over the loss of her lover and this could make up for an exciting storyline for the character.

Meanwhile, Maggie started making a name for herself in season 6 when she started going down her own path towards the end of last season. In the past, she was only regarded as Glenn's (Steven Yeun) better half. Now, she is regarded as Alexandria's head diplomat.

In season 7, Maggie could gather the people of Alexandria post Negan's killing to ensure that everyone will be kept safe.

In other news, Glenn, Negan, Daryl and Rick will mostly be given major storylines in "The Walking Dead" season 7.

During the earlier episodes of the upcoming season, Negan's target will be revealed. This alone could already give the character major stories.

Rick and Daryl will also most likely return to "The Walking Dead" season 7 which means that they were not Negan's targets. Whoever the latter killed, Rick and Daryl will most likely investigate on.

Finally, Glenn is being rumored to be Negan's victim from "The Walking Dead" season 6. If this will be revealed to be the case, fans can still see the character in a series of flashbacks.

Additionally, the events leading up to his death will also be revealed in the premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

Unfortunately, details about Negan's victim are still being kept under wraps, and it will only be confirmed when the show returns this year.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 9.
