According to Ecumenical News, there are recent reports claiming that the original schedule will not be followed anymore because of the inevitable delays in the mass production of the gaming console.

Instead of the middle of this year, the mass production of Nintendo NX is reset to early 2017 because of Nintendo's plan to significantly improve the gaming console, in terms of immersive gaming experience. This move by the company will affect Nintendo NX's release date and will also be inevitably change from what was originally scheduled.

On the other hand, Nintendo also reduced its order volume for Nintendo NX from 20 million units for its first year of production run down to 9.5 to 10 million units. Halving the order volume will not necessarily compensate for the delays, as other adjustments in the production process must be taken into consideration, such as renegotiating with the suppliers and distribution channels.

The contract for assembling Nintendo NX is awarded to Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), and the manufacturer avoided issuing any statement about the details of the contract and about the product of Nintendo.

Meanwhile, according to DigiTimes, Nintendo intends to integrate virtual reality (VR) feature into the gaming console. This would require redesigning the system, thereby contributing to the delay. The company wants to be more competitive in the market since other gaming consoles already have VR features.

It is said that Nintendo NX will combine the advantages of a mobile game device and a video game console. According to reports, it will have a 5-inch to 7-inch screen, a controller, a joystick and a TV connector, allowing gamers to use it as a home video gaming console that can be used by multiple players.

Nintendo fans will just need to wait for more update regarding Nintendo NX release date as early as July, as the company will not be releasing any additional official information during the forthcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016.
