Just this week, another set of reports stated the Macbook Air may be announced during the Worldwide Developers Conference, and will be set for launching this 2016. It was also speculated that though the production of Macbook Air will continue, upgrading of specifications will stop which will transform it to a budget-friendly device.
The previous months may have been a roller coaster for Macbook Air. Earlier this year, reports were pointing out its release would be alongside the Macbook Pro. Later this year, it was revealed by other news that production of this Apple laptop will be discontinued and replaced by the Macbook Pro.
But it seems like the Macbook Air will still be continued in production. The upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to feature various lines of Apple products this 2016. This will also include revelations of new software, and unveiling of the newest iOS, if there will be any, The Independent reported.
The same report stated that since Apple is still fresh from its decline in sales during first quarter this year. The pressure is on for the Cupertino-based company to be at par with its counterparts like Google. The WWDC Conference is set to happen in June 13 and will include announcements of new and upgraded product lines like iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple TV.
The new iteration of Macbook Air is rumored to feature Intel's new Skylake processors. But another rumor stated that the upgrading for the Macbook Air will stagnate and will turn the old line-up to an entry level offering, Apple Insider reported.
The report added that if this scenario happens, the Macbook structure will end in a three-tier with Macbook leading in portability, Macbook Pro as its high-end variant, and the Macbook Air as its budget device. These are still speculations and confirmation of official details is expected to happen soon.
While some fans may be disappointed with the rumor of Macbook Air's discontinuation, the new speculation may not also suffice their pending disappointment over the thin laptop's possible dissolving in the Macbook line-up.
