Recent rumors claimed that MacBook Air 2016 release will happen in the fourth quarter of the year, skipping the WWDC 2016 event. This is fueled by the claims of Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities. He said that Apple is planning to overhaul the MacBook Pro line and might release the new series of devices in the fourth quarter of this year, 9to5Mac reported.

Kuo said that Apple is posing the laptops to be the "brightest spot for Apple's 2016 rollouts." According to the report, there would be two display size variants for the MacBook Pro 2016-a 13-inch and a 15-inch. Meanwhile, MacBook Air may retain the 11-inch and 13-inch variants.

MacBook Air and Pro 2016 are rumored to retain the sizes of the original with Retina display, but will be packed with powerful specs and features, including the latest Intel Skylake processors. The laptops will also run with the latest OS X El Capitan.

Some of the major updates to be found in the upcoming laptops are voice assistant Siri and Touch ID, which are features exclusive in Apple's mobile devices - iPhone and iPad. Accordign to MacRumors, the tech giant is working on unlocking your Mac with Touch ID. The security measure is said to bypass a typed log-in using Bluetooth when the phone is "in close proximity" to a computer running OS X.

To cater to professional needs of Mac users, Siri will reportedly make its debut in Mac as the design of the dock icon leaked. While there is no concrete information about this yet, consumers may have to wait for further updates.

However, there is no official announcement from Apple regarding the final release date and features of the two laptops.
