It has been assumed that the studio's main panel would feature some new footage of the menacing villain named Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), which would somehow answers fans inquiries following the cliffhanger finale of the show's sixth season. Further, the publication claimed that the first trailer may ultimately reveal the truth behind the rumors swirling around the self-proclaimed King Ezekiel and his pet tiger named Shiva.

In view of its comic book counterpart, fans should expect the arrival of King Ezekiel and Shiva in the show's forthcoming season. Speculations are rife that King Ezekiel will reportedly team up with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in an effort to bring down the brutal and foul-mouthed Negan. It is said that King Ezekiel have a strong hatred for Negan and the Saviors.

While nothing official has been announced, it was learned that Ezekiel's character has already been cast and has reportedly filmed a two or three scenes for the first episodes. Reports indicate that a blend of animatronics and Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) will be used to depict the role of Shiva despite a slew of reports claiming otherwise.

Series creator Robert Kirkman already revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Negan remains a constant threat to Grimes and to all the Alexandria survivors. He described Negan as a sort of a nuclear bomb.

"It keeps things interesting, keeps the blood pumping, I like to say," Kirkman told the publication. "But Negan is kind of an atomic bomb that's going to be dropped on the show and the show will probably never be the same after that, so buckle up, I guess?"
