Bae and Kim are well-known in the industry for their close and loyal friendship despite their 16-year age gap. Bae and Kim's rare friendship were introduced to the public in mid-2015 after an astonishing report about the two being best friends was featured in the June 1 broadcast of tvN's "Name List 2015."

It was then revealed that Bae first saw Kim in 2009 with SBS's "Will It Snow for Christmas?", in which Kim played the younger version of the drama's male lead. Actor-turned-CEO Bae immediately scouted Kim into his agency, Key East Entertainment, and grew closer after the latter landed his first lead role in the 20011 teen drama, "Dream High," Korea Boo has learned.

According to the publication, CEO Bae frequently invites Kim to his home and served the "My Love from the Star" actor meals that the former cooked himself. Adding on, it is said that CEO Bae personally drove Kim to his home after the premiere night of the latter's debut film, "Secretly, Greatly," in 2013.

Meanwhile, the upcoming "Real" have gathered much attention from the viewers for its fascinating plot and ensemble cast members, including Han Ji Eun, Lee Sung Min, Lee Gyung Young, Sung Dong Il, f(x)'s Sulli and Rich Ting. The anticipation of the fans grows higher when it was earlier reported that Kim will have a steamy bed scene with the female lead character in the film.

"Real" is an action-noir film set in a spectacular, dark city and follows an ambitious-ruthless man, Jang Tae Young (Kim), who is blinded by his greed and thirst for success. The rated-R film is believed to be Kim's last project before he enlists in the two-year mandatory military service.
