"The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 3 debuts June 19, Sunday. The upcoming segment is titled "Shanzhai" and it will see Tom Chandler and his crew deal with a major new threat in Asia. Here are the detailed spoilers for the next chapter of TNT's post-apocalyptic drama based on William Brinkley's novel with the same name. Read on to find out what happens next.

"The Last Ship" Season 3 premieres June 12 with a special two-hour season opener featuring episode 1 "The Scott Effect" and episode 2 "Rising Sun." It is said that the show will finally reveal Dr. Rachel Scott's fate and will see the focus shift to Asia where the new villain rises and a possible mutation of the original virus leading to a new endemic has emerged.
Moving on to "The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 3. The network has released a synopsis for "Shanzhai" (via Spoiler TV) and it suggests that Chandler and his crew will head to an Asian city to solve a new problem. Fans know that President Michener has ordered Chandler to investigate Chinese leader President Peng, who has been suspected of hoarding the cure instead of distributing it to the public.
At the same time, Mike Slattery will be in difficult situation, too. It seems he is in trouble and not before "The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 3 will he find out the reason behind is problems.
In the meantime, the crew of Nathan James continue to race against time to save Humanity. While things seem better in the United States of America, new challenges arise in Asia.

Speaking to Buddy TV, executive producer Hank Steinberg talked about Season 3 storyline. "In Season 3, the storyline is split between the action in Asia and the Presidency in the new White House in St. Louis. ... The drama is between geo-political issues of how to hold the country together and the question of how many resources should we give to saving the rest of the world when America is stretched very thin and trying to repair itself," he said.
"Initially, we hear that one of our supposed Allies in China, President Peng, isn't distributing the vaccine the way we heard that he should. We head over for a summit to find out what's going on. And, while we're on that mission, like every other season, things happen. A huge, huge thing happens. It's just so cool," he added.
