According to The Bit Bag, Microsoft would not be releasing the Surface Pro 5 this year. Instead, the company's flagship laplet would be available for purchase early next year. The publication claims that the delay is brought on by Microsoft's decision to include the newest Intel processor to the latest Surface Pro 5. Moreover, it is expected that the new device would be selling for around $899 to $999, depending on storage and processor.

Design and Specifications

The Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be powered with Intel's Kaby Lake processors. According to Mobi Picker, these processors are designed to be more power efficient, as the latest Intel processors would provide the Surface Pro 5 with a longer battery life.

The upcoming Microsoft device is expected to have 4k resolution. Nevertheless, there are speculations claiming that the laplet would be offered in either 4k or 2k resolutions. Either an Nvidia Pascal or the latest AMD Polaris GTX 1080 would power the latest Microsoft offering. Moreover, the Surface Pro 5 would run on a pre-downloaded Windows 10 Redstone 2.

The high-end variant of the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be equipped with an impressive 16GB RAM, and other versions with lower RAM is expected to be sold at a cheaper price.

According to several rumors, the Surface Pro 5 would come with the latest Surface Pen. This new stylus would be equipped with a rechargeable battery, and based on the patent recently filed by Microsoft, the Surface Pro 5 stylus would have a USB type C port and an On-Board fingerprint scanner.
