Richard Dawkins, a known personality and atheist, took to Twitter to condemn the Chapel Hill shooting in which three Muslim students lost their lives. Dawkins stated that how can someone not condemn the murders committed by a person.



According to Huffington Post, unconfirmed reports pointed out that the three young Muslims were killed execution style.

Deah Shaddy Barakat 23, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21 and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19 were murdered in their home in North Carolina. 46-year-old Craig Stephen Hicks, an atheist was arrested by the police. Hicks has been charged for the murders.

According to Independent, at 5:11 pm police offers were informed about the gunshots at an apartment block in Chapel Hill.

Deah, his wife Yusor and her sister Razan were dead by the time police arrived at the crime scene. Police revealed that Hicks surrendered on Tuesday night. District Judge Marcia Morey stated that Hicks would stay in custody without a bond until Mar. 4, 2015.

Chris Blue, police chief stated that that police department's thoughts are with the friends and families of the people who lost their lives. He called the massacre "senseless and tragic."

"We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case," Blue said.

Wife of Craig Hicks, Karen Hicks came out and stated that it is not a religious crime but something related to the parking dispute.

"I can say that it is my absolute belief that this incident had nothing to do with religion or the victims' faith, but in fact was related to long-standing parking disputes my husband had with various (neighbors) regardless of their race, religion or creed," Karen Hicks stated in a statement (via Newsobserver.com).
