The price drops are part of a promotional campaign from several developers and gaming consoles to increase sales, especially at the post-E3 period. Microsoft, for example, has launched a Gold promotional campaign, which includes discounts of the aforementioned titles for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Currently, both "Battlefield Hardline" and "Battlefield 4," on Xbox One, have had both their prices slashed by 85 percent while EA SPORTS "Rory Mcllroy PGA TOUR" is now 60 percent cheaper. As well, "Peggle 2 Magical Masters" Edition has received 33 percent discount on the same platform.

The regular version of "Star Wars: battlefront" and the Deluxed Edition are 35 percent cheaper while the Ultimate Edition has received an equally remarkable 30 percent reduction. According to Winbeta all versions of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamiel Unlimited" are selling at 50 percent off.

The same case goes for "Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year Edition," "Forza Motorsport 6 Porsche Expansion," and "Forza Horizon 2 Standard" - 10th Anniversary Edition. The Ultimate Edition of the sixth franchise, however, has received a 30 percent discount, just like "Forza Horizon 2 Ultimate."

On Xbox 360, "Crysis 2," "Crysis 3,' "Crash Mind Over Mutant," "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning," SKATE 'Forza Horizon Season Pass 3," and "SSX" are 75 percent off the retail prices. On the other hand, "Forza Horizon 2" is 33 percent cheaper whereas "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" and "Limbo" are completely free on Xbox 360 and Xbox One respectively.

In Microsoft's promotional program, the special discounts are valid until June 20 and are only obtainable through the Xbox Live Gold subscription. Meanwhile, "Battlefield 4" and "Battlefield Hardline are both getting their prices lowered to only $5 across all platforms for the same period, Destructoid reported.

The discounts also apply for several other games on various platforms.
