While Calling Song Hye Kyo ‘Pretty,’ Song Joong-ki also Refers to Co-star as ‘Elder Sister’

Is “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki constantly teasing fans about the real status of his relationship with co-star Song Hye Kyo?

While the two did not admit anything about any romantic relationship during Friday’s fan meet in Chengdu, the 30-year-old Hallyu star called her “pretty.” He kept on saying at the start of the fan meet “I’m so nervous.”

That was how he introduced Soong Hye Kyo who was his special guest. Besides acknowledging her beautiful face, Song Joong-ki also rested his head on her shoulders, while she, in return, tapped his back, reported Atimes.

The two also gave in to Chengdu fans’ request to move closer to each other. When Song Joong-ki placed his arms around her, the fans cheered wildly, further fueling speculations the pair are in a secret romantic relationship but are just keeping it to themselves to protect their privacy.

However, Song Joong-ki placed a bit of dampener when he referred to Song Hye Kyo as elder sister or “noona” even if she is just a few months older than him. He also called her “sonbe-nim” which means “senior colleague.”

But despite seemingly throwing cold water on a relationship, fans observed the pair looked comfortable and happy when together as they played games, noted Soompi. Atimes also pointed out that after the drama “Worlds Within,” the actress dated her co-star Hyun Bin a year after the Hallyu aired.

Since “Descendants of the Sun” ended airing in mid-April, fans are still hoping Song Hye Kyo would date and become Song Joong-ki’s girlfriend.
