Most existing smartphones generally have single camera setup, but this may change soon. Earlier rumors hinted that Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy Note 7 Edge, which is likely to be unveiled in August, will sport a dual camera setup. According to reports, Samsung Electro-Mechanics (Semco) is developing the dual lens for camera of the upcoming phablet.

Currently, Huawei P9 and LG G5 sport the dual camera setup. If rumors are to be believed even the iPhone 7 Plus may be equipped with a dual camera system.

Moreover, Semco is also making dual camera lens for Samsung's first 2017 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, WCCF Tech reported quoting Chinese sources. The dual camera setup will greatly enhance the picture quality of the device, allowing users to capture high-quality images even in poor light conditions.

As far as other specs are concerned, rumors suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy 8 may also pack the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor. In addition, it is likely to have 6 GB of RAM, compared to the 4 GB of RAM packed by most other smartphones currently available in the market, Chinese publication Zol reported.

In addition, there are rumors suggesting that the Galaxy 8 may also sport a 4K display. A primary reason why Samsung may opt for this is because it will allow users to engross themselves in VR content on a smartphone. 4K resolutions will consume plenty of battery life, but as of now there is no clue as to how Samsung will deal with one of the major issues plaguing most smartphones.

According to the publication, in an age of advanced smartphones, where one has so much computing power at their fingertips, a handset is said to be a great performer when the battery life is able to last for more than 24 hours. Hence, in spite of incorporating Super AMOLED displays and a larger battery capacity, doubts regarding the overall battery life of Galaxy S8 remains.
