Microsoft recently announced the latest navigation improvements in the Windows 10 Maps app. Upgrading smartphones to Windows 10 can help users enjoy the app.
As per the new navigation feature, users can have a better maps experience. Aside from finding locations with the help of this app, it is now easy to follow optimized instructions at a glance by turning on the landscape mode.
Another biggest advantage is that users can navigate the app with just one hand, as navigation is placed at the bottom on the screen. Additionally, the app includes a tailor-made transit experience. For instance, it helps to notify users when to get down from the bus.
The biggest plus point is that when the Windows Maps app is not activated on the phone, it still sends notifications to users to get off the bus. With the latest update to the app, users can view many searches at the same time on the map. This means a person can use the exact information as provided on the map to plan daily activities.
It is easy to get transit or driving directions or walking directions of any nearby place. The new app enables offline maps support, which means a user can use information in the app even if there is no connectivity on his phone, as pointed out by Windows blog.
With point of interest (POI) integrated on the map, it is now easy to hover over the map that offers better visual effects than before. Finding any actions related to POI is even easy to find with the app. Any information found through the app can be printed and shared with others.
HERE is special feature of the Windows 10 Map, but with the latest update to it, HERE will end support on June 30. However, HERE users can move up to 300 in the HERE favorites. As it was reported by SlashGear that Microsoft will end support for HERE transit, HERE Drive+, HERE Drive, HERE City Lens and HERE maps.
On upgrading to Microsoft's Anniversary update, the HERE apps will get deleted automatically. Users of Windows Phone 8.x, can still view the HERE apps, which will not get deleted automatically. Indeed, the HERE apps will continue functioning on their phones.
