AMD is close to releasing the $200 Radeon RX 480 on June 29 but new reports are now claiming that the RX 470 will cost $149 for the 4GB and $179 for the 8GB model.

The company has recently revealed that the AMD Radeon RX 470 will indeed be less powerful than its bigger brother RX 480 but it would be marketed towards users who play e-sport games such as MOBAs and RTS titles. AMD has not officially revealed the price of the card but it is already expected to be well under $200 with the RX 460 probably costing under $100.

NVIDIA may have taken the upper ground in the high-end GPU market with their GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. However, the $370 and upwards price tag may be a little bit high for budget-conscious PC rig builders.

New rumors have emerged that the Radeon RX 470 will also come in both 4GB and 8GB variants with the latter costing $179, Digital Trends has learned. Meanwhile, the RX 460 will probably cost $99 and $119 for the 2GB and 4GB variant, respectively.

In terms of price, all of the RX 400 series Polaris cards are already a steal compared to the current video card offering. The RX 480's performance has been compared to be at least on par with the GTX 980 which now costs around $300.

The problem is that there are still no concrete performance benchmarks of the Radeon RX 470 and the R 460. Speculations point out that the RX 470 would at least best the current R9 380X considering that the leaked 3DMark FireStrike benchmark results show a 9090 score for the 1080p preset, TechFrag reported.

Polaris 10 will still be powering the Radeon RX 470 card but with lowered specs overall. It would still be dishing out about 5 TFLOPs for its peak compute performance whereas the RX 480 does with around 5.8 TFLOPs.

AMD is expected to release the Radeon RX 480, RX 470 and RX 460 on June 29. Prices are expected to be revealed before then and the partner cards are slated to launch several weeks or days later after the reference cards.
