"Tekken 7" proved it is still one of the best fighting game ever after Bandai Namco showcased the video game's new story trailer at E3 2016, which confirmed the game's launching on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. However, the franchise's expansion in non-consoles could pose danger for other gamers' Tekken experience due to possible cheating.
According to Game N Guide, Bandai Namco's latest installment in the fighting game franchise, "Tekken 7," took an early flight in arcade platform in the first half of 2015. The announcement of "Tekken 7" PlayStation 4 version came later that year at Paris Games Week, along with the news that the game would feature virtual reality support and exclusive content.
But what went behind the scenes at E3 2016 is a possible crossplay features for "Tekken 7" betweeen the PS4 and Xbox One console, which was hinted by the game creator Katsuhiro Harada in an interview.
Based on the interview posted in Reddit, one of the main reason why cross-platform gaming has not happened for "Tekken 7" for a long time is because the game developers still need to ensure that both Sony and Microsoft would welcome the virtual reality support.
Another consideration made by Bandai Namco before taking "Tekken 7" into a larger community is the confirmation of a PC version made by the company. Because of its open nature, crossplay with PC is much easier that doing it in consoles like PS4 and Xbox One.
However, this improvement in the "Tekken" experience presents a problem as cheaters can create loopholes that can ruin video game experience to the gamers.
On non-console platforms, it is much easier for cheaters to create and exploit loopholes, so Harada implied that it really depends on the gaming community if they ever want to have a cross-platform gaming feature between PCs and consoles.
Meanwhile, "Tekken 7" will feature returning characters such as Lili, Xiaoyu, Steve Fox, Kazuya, Paul Phoenix, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Asuka, Jin, Yoshimitsu, Marshall Law, King, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, Leo, Lars, Alisa and Nina Williams, along with new faces Josie Rizal, Shaheen, Katarina Alves, Lucky Chloe, Jack-7, Gigas, Claudio Serafino, Akuma and Kazumi Mishima.
"Tekken 7" will launch in early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC platform.
