Flagship Pictures China, a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainment and China Media Capital, has named Elaine Feng as its new president.

With her new post, Feng will manage the group's day-to-day operations, marketing and production units.

"'I'm honored to lead Flagship Pictures China at this important juncture," said Feng in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

"Not only is this a unique opportunity to put my experience across the media, Internet and entertainment sectors to use in the rapidly growing and evolving Chinese film industry," Feng said, "it's also a privilege to play a role in realizing the vision so clear in the DNA of both partners--the pursuit of excellence and the creation of impactful films."

Feng was formerly the CEO of Warner Music China, taking in charge of the group's operations in the region. She also worked for Star TV, Sohu.com, Tom Online and News Corp. China.

"Elaine possesses rich experience, expertise and contacts across the creative and operational sides in both traditional media and Internet space, and makes a great leader for Flagship," said China Media's chairman Ruigang Li.

"We believe she will bring out maximum potential for our company as we establish Flagship as an important player in the Chinese-language film business within China and globally," Li added.

Meanwhile, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Kevin Tsujihara said, "With Elaine, we're getting someone with long track record of success across the Chinese entertainment industry. She's strategic, creative and well-connected, and has the knowledge and experience necessary to establish and position Flagship for ongoing success."

Flagship Pictures was established last September in a bid to produce high-quality Chinese films to cater to the country's rising movie market.

The group recently released a slate of 12 movies that it plans to produce over the next few years. Included in the lineup are remakes of "Blended" and "Miss Congeniality."
