Headey, who portrays the character Cersei, made the revelation in an interview with Entertainment Weekly following the Season 6 finale of "Game of Thrones" that aired on Sunday, June 26. In the said episode titled "The Winds of Winter," one of the scenes featured Cersei torturing Septa (Hannah Waddingham) by pouring wine on her face while she lay tied on a top of a table. This was after Cersei burned all of her enemies in a wildfire blast that killed many characters.

The actress described the torture scene as "so filthy" and "so great." She also commented that the scene that viewers saw was different than what was originally identified in the script. Headey explained that it was supposed to be much worse than waterlogging Septa with wine. However, she mentioned that they were unable to push ahead with the initial plans. She even stated that the original scene was very bad. The actress joked that the explosion scene that killed many characters was better as compared to the original torture scene.

Headey also shared her thoughts on the wildfire explosion where Cersei was able to rid herself of her many enemies. The actress recounted that she had a grin on her face when she read the script that featured the said scene for the first time. She also commented how some of the "Game of Thrones" fans who were on Cersei's side may feel shocked and thrilled with her character's actions. Headey also described the scene as one of Cersei's greatest winning moment in the HBO series.

Meanwhile, showrunner David Benioff shared in an interview with E!News that it was tough filming the explosion scene in the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 finale. He even compared it to the show's previous Red Wedding scene where many characters also died. Benioff also stated that they had a time saying goodbye to the cast members whose characters were killed in the wildfire explosion scene. "It's tough to say goodbye to a lot of actors we've been working with for quite some time," he said.
