Chandler Parsons could end up signing with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer as there could be mutual interests between the two parties.

Parsons could be inclining to join the Lakers this summer, with the small forward reportedly "eyeing" to join LA, according to Bleacher Report's Howard Beck.

As it stands, the Lakers are also reportedly in pursuit of Parsons, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, creating a mutual interest that could eventually lead to a signed contract this summer.

With the top stars like Kevin Durant and Hassan Whiteside becoming unlikely for the Lakers, LA could consider focusing on other remaining quality free agents in the market.

Parsons would certainly become a boost for the Lakers, with the team in glaring need to fill the wing position. The 27-year-old small forward, who averaged 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Dallas Mavericks last season, could space the floor for the Lakers and would add the much-needed outside shooting.

Parsons are reportedly seeking a deal close to a max contract, which the Lakers will have no problem shedding, considering their very flexible cap space. However, there are concerns whether Parsons truly deserve a max deal, with the six-year veteran having a history of knee injuries throughout his career.

But there is still a growing sense such move could happen, especially with the market getting thinner for LA.

Despite the Lakers' effort to become an attractive destination using their core of young talents, it seems Los Angeles is still a dead-spot for top stars in the league. The money should be a factor to lure top free agents, but the Lakers lack a summer signing that could help send shockwaves to other key players looking for their next team.

The Lakers need all the help they could get to turn things around in Tinsel town. Parsons may not be the star acquisition the franchise is hoping for, but he could be the right guy they need kick start their win-now campaign.
