The bare-bottom woman, wearing a gray top, was seen sitting on a bed and then eventually pushing a shopping cart. The photo was captioned, “I finally know why people in Beijing love shopping in IKEA,” quoted Shanghaiist.

The photo were taken by a friend of the woman at an IKEA store in Beijing near Siyuan Bridge, according to Tencent, based on what the uploader told a reporter.

After police found the uploader, the photo were removed from Weibo. However, a second set was also posted but was also deleted immediately.

In a statement, IKEA China denied it was a publicity stunt, saying, “There is speculation about the behavior of IKEA as it opens up new stores. IKEA strongly denies this speculation.”

Even if the images were removed, speculations continued on Weibo. One user joked that the woman perhaps just forgot to wear an underwear, while another wrote, “I don’t believe IKEA’s statement. First, if IKEA didn’t deliberately set up the whole scene, why would such a huge shopping mall like IKEA have no one inside. Second, there was no view from the front of the woman. Who wouldn’t want to see her face after seeing her ass?”
