The upcoming new season of the hit MTV series "Teen Wolf" will be introducing a new story arc for its lead character. The series showrunner, as well as Tyler Posey, has shared that Scott will remain single in Season 6.

The new story twist was revealed by showrunner Jeff Davis and Posey during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Davis commented that they came up with the idea of having Scott as a single guy following the departure of Arden Cho, who played Scott's girlfriend Kira. He shared that they wanted to feature a season where Posey's character would be loveless that could potentially expose a different side of the alpha.

For the past five seasons of the series, viewers have always seen Posey's character Scott with a prospective new love or with a girlfriend. Avid fans may recall that Scott was first linked with Allison (Crystal Reed), however, their relationship ended tragically. He then found a new love in Cho's Kira, but given the actress' exit from the show, Scott has now been left without a girlfriend.

Davis continued that loyal viewers of the MTV series will see a different Scott who would be focused on graduating from school, as well as fighting supernatural enemies. It appears that showrunners are not looking to replace Kira's role in Scott's life anytime soon. Meanwhile, Posey also shared his thoughts on his character's newly single status. The actor mentioned that he has always wondered how Scott would be without a romantic partner.

Posey even recounted how the very first episode of the series featured Scott meeting and falling in love with Reed's now dead character. He also compared Scott's new story twist with his own love life given his current single status. However, he mentioned that his character's loveless predicament in the upcoming season may do wonders for Scott. It can lead to the alpha gaining more maturity and a deeper understanding of himself, Posey explained.

In other news, Cho announced her departure from the series in a video message that was posted on Youtube after the Season 5 finale of the series. The actress stated in the clip that Kira's storyline has already reached its end and that she will not be returning for "Teen Wolf" season 6, TV.com reported. She also described her more than three-year stay in the show as amazing.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 is expected to return to the small screens later this year.
