Network carrier AT&T is rolling out the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. The rollout started from July 5 and will continue for all the users until the end of the month.

The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update will be released in a gradual manner for all the users, according to Android Authority. It will eventually roll out to all the users in the United States in the coming weeks.

Other network carriers such as T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and US Cellular are also expected to release the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for their users. Network carrier T-Mobile is currently testing the update, which is expected to release it next week.

The global rollout of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 is about to commence soon. Turkey, Nigeria, Iceland, Spain and India are expected to get the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update soon for their Samsung Galaxy S6 Active users.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active users can check their devices to see if they are prompted for an update or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Phone> Check for Software Update.

The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is around 1440MB in size, so the Samsung Galaxy S6 Activer users are advised to download the update on a reliable and stable Wi-Fi connection. The users can also download the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update on their phone's network but in doing so, they would incur very high data charges, so it is not recommended.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active needs to be plugged into a power source if the battery levels are below 50 percent before starting the download process. In case the device loses power midway, the Android Marshmallow download process will be halted. In such a scenario ,the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active device can get bricked and the user stands the risk of losing the local data on the device.

Android Marshmallow provides Wi-Fi calling facility for the AT&T users of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. It comes with a new Settings app, customized permissions and support for fingerprint scanner, according to BGR.
