"Days of Our Lives" is saying goodbye to another soap veteran John-Paul Lavoisier. Well known for his role as Philip Kiriakis, Lavoisier is finalizing his exit later in 2016 after only joining the sudser for nearly a year.

Lavoisier made his debut in the "Days of Our Lives" in December 2015 and will end taping this July and Philip is heading out of Salem, Soap Opera Digest reported. Lavoisier's exit followed the departure of Belle Black (Martha Madison) who will air last in September.

The role of the actor as the son of Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) was formerly portrayed by Jay Kenneth Johnson and Kyle Brandt. Some of the works credited to Lavoisier include "One Life to Live," "Major Crimes," "Anger Management," "Gossip Girl," and many more.

The departure of the characters was not surprising at all as several members of the cast were written out in the "Days of Our Lives". As early as March, Madison's exit was announced alongside other cast Shawn-Douglas (Brandon Beemer), Summer (Marie Wilson) and Lani (Sal Stowers). Theresa Donovan (Jen Liley) will also be departing the sudser soon.

With so many characters exiting, there are speculations that the soap opera may be revolving around Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Donovan. Viewers could also expect to see favorite couples returning in the soap.

There are rumors that Lavoisier was caught off-guard when he was booted off from the soap. The "Days of Our Lives"  producers reportedly voted him out of the sudser because he was not a good fit for the role.

"He was blind-sided," Soap Opera Spy quoted the insider as saying. "He got the axe in a phone call and he's furious he wasn't at least told in person."

The source added that the soap's executives were thinking of getting Jay Kenneth Johnson back,  the original Philip Kiriakis to reprise his role. NBC has not commented on these rumors yet.

Lavoisier has not confirmed anything whether he was fired or not from the soap. "Days Of Our Lives" airs at 1 p.m. on NBC and 8 p.m. on POP.
