Fans looking forward to see "Prison Break" Season 5 only have to wait for a little while after writers of the serial drama television series confirmed that they are already wrapping up the production for one more week. They announced that two female leads and several new faces will be added to the cast of the highly anticipated Fox series.

 It has been almost seven years since the series, top billed by Dominic Purcell and Wenworth Miller, was last seen by its followers. In an open conversation with fans on Twitter, "Prison Break" writers confirmed a few details about "Prison Break" Season 5 before it will air in spring of 2017.

In the same conversation on Twitter, the writers confirmed the addition of two major female cast and several new bit roles. In April, it was revealed that filming of the series' sequel was done in several locations, including Vancouver and Morocco.


The writers shared how they film the first few episodes of the popular series. It came out that they shoot in order except for some instances that they have to finish some scenes in one location.


It was earlier speculated that the series will be back on air in September, but due to filming constraints, Fox had to pick a later date for its release, iDigital Times reported. After several teasers and speculations on the released date of "Prison Break" Season 5, the network announced that the show will premiere during the 2017 mid-season.

The series, featuring nine seasons, will be taking the "Bones" Thursday night prime time slot at 9 p.m. Although the show has not yet aired yet, speculations for the series' Season 6 are already teased by fans. The writers hinted that it is not sure yet, but if Season 5 will run well, then there is a possibility.

As with the cast, T-Bag (Robert Knepper), Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar), Congressman Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) are all reprising their roles. Cast appearing in recurring roles include Inbar Lavi, Marina Benedict and Kunal Sharma. The series welcomes new cast members Augustus Prew, Rick Yune and Steve Mouzakis, according to Deadline.
