"Orange is the New Black" alum Samira Wiley recently opened up about her character Poussey's shocking death in the finale episode.

At that time, Poussey was accidentally killed by a prison guide during an ongoing inmate protest.

While speaking with Digital Spy, Wiley said that the main goal for Poussey in "Orange is the New Black" season 4 is for the character to have a direction in life.

Unfortunately, when she finally found the light at the end of the tunnel, it was too late for her.

"I think the whole goal of the story of Poussey this season is that you really do see Poussey start to have things to live for. You get so downtrodden when you're in prison, and it's hard to find something to live for. I just see so much potential in Poussey Washington. I root for her. I want to see her outside of prison, making it," she said.

Meanwhile, Wiley acknowledged the fact that the death of her character could be very devastating for the fans because they are very much invested in Poussey and have grown to love her throughout the years.

"Because people are so invested in this show, and some of these tragedies will happen to characters that they have, over the past four years, gotten to know and love, it makes it so personal... I think it's going to be devastating," she said.

In other news, Alan Aisenberg recently defended his character Baxter Bayley for suddenly shooting the well-loved character.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Aisenberg said that he knows what Bayley did was a mistake. But he also understands where all the anger from fans is coming from.

The actor added that he also feels very strongly for his character in the hit Netflix original series because Baxter isn't necessarily a bad person.

"People come up to me on the street because Bayley has made them cry and made them think. Bad people do bad things and good people do bad things," he said.

"Orange is the New Black" has been renewed for season 5 and new episodes are expected to be released next year.
