It has been said that Asians, compared to Caucasians, look younger than their actual biological age. But that is a general observation, although there are Asians celebrities who have been in the public eye for several years and have proof of looking the same in the current and past photos.
Soompi made a list of such Korean celebrities and included a present and past picture of the actor or singer as evidence. Not surprisingly, the two lead actors of "Descendants of the Sun" are included.
The entertainment website pointed out that Song Hye Kyo, the female lead of “Descendants of the Sun,” would turn 35 this 2016. It posted a current photo of her and one taken about 10 years ago in 2005 with hardly any aging observed. The only difference is she has makeup on her current photo.
Her partner in the 16-episode series, Song Joong-ki, is 30 now. Three years ago, when he was 27, the actor starred in “The Werewolf Boy,” and Soompi thought he was only 17 then. One possible reason behind the youthful look of Soong Joong-ki is that he is not into night life, which is why when rumors circulated that he was with friend Park Yoochun on June 3 in an adult nightclub, several people and Blossom Agency denied the rumor.
Now that Song Joong-ki has started to film the war movie “Battleship Island,” he is even younger looking since he went on a diet and exercised a lot for the role which required him to shed pounds. Actually, even the demeanor of his face did not change, pointed out AllKpop which published in March the actor’s toddler photo when he was still a pre-school kid.
Among other male stars, also on the list are N of VIXX who celebrated his 26th birthday in June but still looks like during his Superhero days and Kim Jong Kook who would turn 40 this year but could pass off for a much younger man.
Seo Taiji, who popularized the songs “Come Back Home” and “I Know” with his band Seo Tai Ji and Boys in the 1990s, is even older than Kim Jong Koo by four years, but Seo Taiji also hardly aged in two photos posted.
Also approaching four decades is Chun Jung Myun, star of “Cinderella’s Sister” and “Master: God of Noodles,” who turns 36 this 2016.
Among female stars, there is Dara Park, member of 2NE1, who turns 32 this year, but looks like the teen who joined “Star Circle Quest” in the Philippines in 2004. Han Ga In, the star of “Architecture 101” and “Moon Embracing the Sun,” is just a year younger than Song Hye Kyo. Despite giving birth to her first baby this 2016, she has not changed physically compared with how she looked in 2007.
The other Korean celebrities on Soompi’s list are Hai Ji Won, Lee Seung Gi, Lee Mi Yeon, Kim Hee Ae, Sojin of Girl’s Day, Jang Nara and Lee Young Ae.
