Avid fans of the "One-Punch Man" franchise have been clamoring for the release date of the second installment. Latest information suggests that Season 2 will debut immediately after "One-Punch Man" Season 1 English dub airs on Toonami.
Adult Swim confirmed that the English-dubbed Season 1 is on the Toonami list and is slated to premiere on July 16. The news came during the Anime Expo on July 1, exciting fans. Future episodes for "One-Punch Man" Season 1 English dub are set to air every Saturday.
"One-Punch Man is a one of a kind show and we're excited to have it join our Toonami line-up," Jason DeMarco, the senior vice president and creative director said via Viz Media official website. We know our viewers have been hoping this would happen for a while, and we're thrilled to have been able to make it happen!"
The anime already has a loyal fanbase that made the "One" webcomic go viral. With the added exposure on Adult Swim's Toonami, "One-Punch Man" will reach a wider audience.
"One-Punch Man" Season 2 release date updates have been elusive. However, rumors are rife that the new season will come out earlier because of the looming "One-Punch man" Season 1 English dub, according to Game N Guide.
It is rumored that the second installment in the "One-Punch Man" franchise will release in October. There are chances that the release date will be moved up in the event the English dub turns out a success. Beside the "One-Punch Man" Season 2, the English dub might as well trigger an earlier launch date of another fan-favorite anime series.
Recently, there was confirmation that "My Hero Academia" will get a second season. While the release date for this anime is yet to be confirmed, it is likely that fans will see it much sooner this year.
Toonami is the anime programming block on Adult Swim, Turner's network that offers original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. Catch "One-Punch Man" Season 1 English dub premiere on July 16.
