"Teen Wolf" star Tyler Hoechlin may not be returning to the MTV drama/horror series to reprise his role as Derek Hale. Rumors have been hitting the headlines for quite some time now that he is taking a slow pace from "Teen Wolf" to concentrate more on films and other projects.

In the solo Q and A session at the Supanova in Sydney, Australia in June, Hoechlin did not directly address the rumor, but hinted that he has no plans to return to the MTV series at the moment. His reply raised more speculations that he may not play the role of Hale in the upcoming "Teen Wolf" Season 6 as he is giving more time to prepare for his roles as coworker of Anastasia Steel in "The Fifty Shades Darker" and as the Man of Steel in The CW series "Supergirl."

"I would love to make everybody cheer and be happy right now," Hypable quoted Hoechlin as saying. "I don't have any plans to right now."

Hoechlin followed up his reply by saying that It is not a sure no though. For now, all he could say is, he has no plans to return to "Teen Wolf" right now.

It was not the first time that Hoechlin was rumored leaving "Teen Wolf." In 2015, he took some off from the series as regular after he decided to focus more on movies. During that time, the series executive producer Jeff Davis even supported his decision and assured that he can always return to the series.

When it comes to Hoechlin's other projects, the actor talked about how he landed his role as Superman in the series "Supergirl." While talking to his fans at the Supanova, he shared that he was lucky to get the role since he never even auditioned for it.

Previous reports revealed that "Supergirl" showrunner Andrew Kreisberg and executive producer Greg Berlanti have been eyeing Hoechlin to play the role of Superman and this project came just the right time. Kreisberg revealed that they are proud to have the actor as the latest to portray the iconic character.

Aside from "Supergirl," the "Teen Wolf" star was chosen to portray the role of Boyce Fox as Steele's workmate in the "Fifty Shades Darker," according to The Wrap. Despite the absence of Fox (Hoechlin) in the narrative, the character will be given more exposure in the "Fifty Shades" sequel.

Hoechlin was seen returning to films after he portrayed the role of Tom Hanks' son in "Road to Perdition." Among his credits include "7th Heaven," "Stratton" and "Lincoln Heights." The actor will also be seen in the college comedy "Everybody Wants Some."
