A black police officer questioned the motive of activist movement Black Lives Matter on a Facebook post by claiming that black people kill each other more than the police do. This was following the aftermath of the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile that sparked their protests recently.

With all the recent controversies surrounding white supremacy and police brutality toward black people, Jay Stalien poured his thoughts by sharing his own experiences living as a black law enforcement official in a city filled with black people. For the most part, he addressed black people waging wars against themselves as the main issue of his Facebook post.

Stalien says that the media sensationalizes the race war and that they are all looking at the wrong picture. Being raised in Brooklyn, New York, he lived a dangerous life growing up being exposed to all the crimes and killings that occur at his city. He wanted to become a cop because these lives in his community - not just the lives of black people - mattered to him, so he wanted to put a stop on these meaningless violence.

Stalien recounted his story as a cop where he faced harsh condemnation from his fellow black people in every homicide he investigated, to the point that they were spitting him on the face. He recounted his experience that the black community has grown cynical over all kinds of police officers - even black cops including himself - and would refuse answering interviews regarding crime events. "I was a target in the very community I swore to protect and wanted to help", Stalien was quoted as saying.

Stalien proceeded to resort to statistics wherein black people kill other black people more than the police do, and that there are only protests when a white police does it. The clear implication of the double standard, according to Stalien, means that people would rather make this a race issue while ignoring the evidence and numbers.

In a similar note, Fort Worth Police Officers Association have also called out the Black Lives Matter organization on a Facebook post as a movement that justifies murdering law enforcement officers rather than just fighting for the lives of black people and egalitarianism as a whole. But the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter have retorted to these accusations, saying that they also condemn any act of murdering cops, but they should still be able to demand accountability, according to a report by The Huffington Post.
