Xbox One S's recent listing on the Spanish version of Amazon, Amazon.es, strongly indicates that the new gaming console is likely to launch soon. The listing says that the release of the console is expected on Aug. 2. However, you will have to wait until Microsoft comes out with an official announcement regarding the gaming console.
The Redmond-based tech company had earlier revealed the Xbox One S during the E3 press conference held this year. Microsoft, however, had hinted at an August release, so we can expect the console to make its debut soon in next month.
An updated version of the Xbox one, the Xbox One S, promises a 40 percent smaller body than its previous version, HDR gaming support and 4K compatibility. This means users can run 4K movies with the console and also enjoy upscale games at equal resolution.
Going by the upsurge in consumer demands for 4K televisions, Microsoft is confident about delivering compatible content to consumers. "A lot of people are missing the fact that Xbox One S is a 4K, UHD physical Blu-ray player too," said Mike Ybarra who works as the director of Xbox program management division.
Mike even pointed out that the Xbox One S is priced at $299, while the 4K upscaler and the 4K Blu-Ray packed with the gaming console will cost you $399. "I think people are going to be blown away when they see HDR games and video, frankly. It's a pretty big difference," he added.
Despite getting a smaller look than its original version, the Xbox One S can be conveniently stored horizontally or vertically and comes with a remote control and an IR blaster, The Guardian reported.
It should be noted that the Xbox One X packs in a hard drive that can boost power up to a whooping 2TB. The device features an updated controller and has a built-in power supply feature, iDigital Times has learned.
Apart from the Xbox One S, Microsoft chose the E3 press conference to announce another product, the Xbox One Project Scorpio, which is due in 2017. According to the tech giant, the Project Scorpio is a highly boosted iteration of its previous version that features six teraflops of processing speed and eight CPU cores.
While players can enjoy excellent 4K movies and upscale games with the Xbox One S, Scorpio delivers original and native 4K gaming. To learn more about Project Scorpio, you will have to wait a few more months for Microsoft to release an official statement regarding the product.
