Since winning the WWE title at Money in the Bank, Ambrose has not defended it but he was scheduled to put it on the line in a Triple Threat Match at Battleground against Rollins and Roman Reigns. However, the WWE wants to attract viewers for the first episode of SmackDown Live and the draft on July 19.

According to Cageside Seats, one of the ways to do it is to remove the WWE championship from Ambrose. It could create interest since The Lunatic Fringe has a lot of fans, but it can also make fans angry.

Rollins will benefit from it because he is already a heel while it might be disastrous for Reigns. The anger of many Ambrose fans can go directly to him once he returns from suspension. Nevertheless, The Shield Triple Threat Match will happen at Battleground with Ambrose or Rollins entering as WWE champion.

This rumor may have a basis because Vince McMahon is looking to push Rollins, per Daily Wrestling News. The WWE chairman is reportedly souring on Reigns as the next face of the company. The former WWE champion was suspended for failing the Wellness Policy, in addition to not being completely over with the fans despite all the company's efforts.

On the other hand, the WWE Draft on July 19 will be on the first episode of SmackDown Live on the USA Network. It is set to change the landscape of the company since they will be heavily invested in it. However, they would need to think of a lot of ways to improve their stories.

It is a good time to be a wrestling fan right now with the brand extension coming. There will be a second World Championship on the horizon and NXT stars will be called up. And to start it off, a WWE championship match between Ambrose vs. Rollins is going to happen on Raw.
