"Back to the Future" fans have something to look forward to this year, that is, if they also own an iPhone.

A new case makes the iPhone look like Doc Brown's time machine from the movie.

The iPhone case looks like the DeLorean DMC-12 that appeared in "Back to the Future II," according to PC Mag. The DeLorean DMC-12, a modified version of the first time machine, has a new reactor that uses garbage for power instead of the plutonium reactor used in the first movie.

Most iPhone cases offer an extra layer of protection, but as CNet notes, the DeLorean iPhone case isn't for practicality. Rather it's meant to show the user's enthusiasm for the movie "Back to the Future."

The case really looks like a car. The iPhone is completely hidden from view.

The car's front bumper and rear tubing can be lit up by blue LED lights. The headlights light up to let users know they have an incoming call.

To uncover the phone's camera, users have to slide open the front fender and wheel on the driver's side of the car. On the other hand, sliding open the fender on the other side allows users to access controls.

Bandai has timed the release of the DeLorean iPhone case to celebrate the movie's setting, which is this year. In the movie, Doc Brown and Marty McFly travel to 2015 to keep McFly's future son out of jail.

The DeLorean iPhone case is set to ship in June. But those interested can already pre-order the iPhone case at p-bandai.jp.

The iPhone case is priced at $50 or about £32 or AU$64.

The DeLorean iPhone case is part of Bandai's Crazy Case series of smartphone cases. It comes after the first Crazy Case "Batman Batmobile Tumbler" phone case.
