Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 fans on AT&T should be excited since the network is rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on the tablet. The update brings a slew of fresh and efficient updates to the Android ecosystem of many devices.

Some of the improvements that come with the update include battery-saving app Doze, the Now on Tap feature, and secure and customizable ways to manage app access. For AT&T users, the Galaxy Tab S2 update includes the NumberSync app that allows them to access standard smartphone actions such as voice and video calls, according to the AT&T official website.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will bring several other features like Android Pay, improved connectivity, better productivity, Android for Work, and app backup and restore among others, according to the Android official website. The tablet will utilize users' existing mobile numbers and will function even when the smartphone is not in close proximity.

According to the telecommunication network, subscribers should back up date prior to installing the update. Although the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will not directly affect saved data on the tablet, it is better to take precaution.

Users will not downgrade back to Android Lollipop once they upgrade to Android M. The downgrade can only happen through unofficial means, which will void the Tablet's warranty.

Before upgrading to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, users should ensure that their devices are fully charged. An unexpected shutdown of the tablet in the process of the update will kill the Tab S2.

After connecting to the preferred Wi-Fi network, go to Settings menu, either through the notifications tab found at the top or via the device's app icon in the apps tray. Scroll down and click on "About Device" and then "Software Update." Click on the "Check for Updates" button on the next screen.

Another window will prompt the user to download the update and install Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. After the upgrade, the device will automatically restart and the user is good to go with the new Operating System.

The user may go back to the "About Device" screen to check if the tablet is running the Marshmallow OS. The screen should show the Android Version as 6.0.1 and the Baseband Version as T817AUCU2BPF2.
