The singing sensation Taylor Swift has accused the famous couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian of "character assassination." The accusation has been made after the television reality star, Kardashian, leaked a video of the conversation between her husband and the "Shake It Off" singer.
The video posted apparently leaked by Kardashian shows he husband, West, talking about his song "Famous" with Swift. The couple claims that it was Swift, who approved a controversial lyric about herself that appears in the song.
However, Swift has released a statement that "you cannot approve a song you haven't heard," according to the BBC. This is, by far, the most latest and recent update in the feud involving the singer, the reality star and the rapper.
Earlier, Kardashain had claimed that she has a proof that West did talk to Swift about the song. Later, she posted a series of video to Instagram wherein the rapper is talking to the "Bad Blood" singer through a mobile phone's loudspeaker.
In one of the several clips uploaded by the "Keeping Up With Kardashians" star, Swift can be heard thanking West for sharing his concerns about the song with her. In another clip, she talks about the moment when West interrupts during her award acceptance speech at the VMAs.
However, Swift released a statement within an hour of videos being made public stating that she did not approve the song "Famous." She further claimed that West had promised that he would play the song for her, which he never did.
The feud between the trio dates back to February 2016. Then, West and Swift had a public fight over the lyrics of the song "Famous." During the rappers' album drop event at Madison Square Garden, he rapped a verse about having sex with Swift someday and believing that he made it famous.
Swift did not like it at all and took offense to the verse. The singer's team claimed that West did not call Swift for her approval and that the lyrics were clearly inappropriate. However, the rapper did ask her to release "Famous" on her Twitter account, which she readily refused. She even warned him against releasing a song with such a strong misogynist message, according to Vox.
However, West claimed that he had specifically told the singer about the lyrics prior to the release of the song. He further said, in a series of Tweets, that he had a long discussieon on the line and Swift actually found the line funny and gave her blessings.
The release of the Snapchat video clips by Kardashian indicated that either Swift is lying about West or she is actually hiding some of the facts. She has been inconsistent all the way through.
