Roman Reigns is getting closer to returning from his 30-day suspension for violating the WWE Wellness Policy. According to the latest rumors, many people believe that Reigns will return at Battleground but it could be at an earlier date.

The WWE suspended Reigns for 30 days on June 21 for his first violation of the Wellness Policy. The news of it answered several questions like why he lost clean to Seth Rollins and why Dean Ambrose became the WWE champion.

Reigns' suspension will officially end on July 22 but there are no televised shows for him to appear before Battleground. He is set to miss the WWE Draft but he may be returning to the ring before Sunday.

According to Cageside Seats, the WWE is planning to have Reigns' in-ring return at a live event in Wildwood, New Jersey on July 23. It is part of the WWE Live SummerSlam Heat Wave tour and Reigns is one of the advertised superstars for the event.

The WWE has been open about The Guy's suspension on television and it is expected that he will get a mixed reaction in his return at Battleground. He is not expected to win the WWE championship as Vince McMahon has been rumored to have soured on him because of his suspension, Daily Wrestling News reported.

The former WWE champion is also not going to appear on the WWE Draft because of his suspension. But he is still eligible to be drafted and he is expected to be a top draft pick. However, there are no concrete reports on which brand he will be drafted to.

On the other hand, the 31-year-old was reportedly caught using amphetamines and it happened while he was the WWE champion. It is not a great look for Reigns, who has been pushed by top officials for the past couple of years as the next face of the company.

Reigns has also not gotten completely over the fans and it added to the frustration of the WWE chairman. Blame can be pointed to both sides but the WWE should have been smarter about his character development.

Nevertheless, Reigns will be staying in the main event picture but he is not expected to win the WWE title. He may undergo a character change like and even a redemption storyline is rumored to be a plan to get more sympathy.
