HBO has confirmed that "Game of Thrones Season 7" will not be aired before summer 2017, which means the show will get no nominations in Emmy awards next year.

The release of "Game of Thrones" season 7 beyond the Emmy cycle is a good news for the rivals who always aspired to win Emmys for the categories that have always recognized the HBO fiction as the most deserving. The next season of the show will have only seven episodes.

"House of Cards," "Mr. Robot," "Better Call Saul," and "The Americans" are the few names, the producers of which have found a chance to create history by winning Emmys for certain categories and register themselves as winners of 2017.

Earlier, the premiere date for the fiction show was April 24, but winter-imposed production delayed the schedule. The premier of the show will begin in Northern Ireland along with some of the shooting locations being in Spain and Iceland, according to the TV Line. The eligibility for the Emmys ends on May 31 whereas the first day of summer is June 21.

"Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing," HBO's president of production, Casey Bloys, said in a statement. "Instead of the show's traditional spring debut, we're moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule."

"Game of Thrones" has been nominated in the Best Drama series every year since the show made its debut in 2011. In 2015, it won an award for the Best Drama category along with11 other awards, which set a new record for the show. In fact, in 2016, the HBO's fiction managed to receive 23 nominations. The nomination this year also includes first-time supporting actors, including Kit Harrington and Maisie Williams.

Gold Derby did not forget to mention that Emmys has also recognized guest star Max von Sydow performance and nominated it for the "Game of Thrones" 2016 season six.
