EXO's Chen has issued an apology statement to his fans given his decision to stop accepting fan gifts.
The Korean singer shared a message on EXO's official fan page on Tuesday, July 19, where he announced that he will no longer accept gifts from fans, Soompi reported. It has been a common practice for avid fans to send their favorite Kpop idols and other celebrities some gifts items from time to time. However, Chen has decided to stop with the said practice.
He wrote that he has been grateful for the support and gifts that the fans have lavished on him during special occasions such as birthdays or the band's anniversary. Chen commented that he will only receive the love and good intentions of loyal EXO fans moving forward.
The Korean musician then mentioned that some fans may feel disappointed with his decision. He stated that he became "apologetic" with the gifts that he received. Chen explained that he wanted to use each and every gift item that the fans have sent and show it off to his supporters. However, the task has become a challenge for him.
Chen shared that he became worried that some fans may feel sad if he is only seen using specific gift items. The EXO band member commented that he would like to avoid potential misunderstandings where fans may think that he did like a gift or has not received it. He clarified that he found each fan gift meaningful and that he was thankful for everything that his avid supporters have given to him.
Chen also shared that he can feel how much the fans love him and his co-EXO band members during stage performances. The Korean singer ended his message by encouraging his followers to continue being good and loveable.
In other news, Chen along with his co-EXO band members Chanyeol and Suho recently appeared in the Korean TV program "Happy Together" where they spoke about their first kiss, allkpop reported. Chanyeol commented that his first on-screen kiss was in the movie "So I Married an Anti-Fan." However, he clarified that it was not his first real life kiss. On the other hand, Chen declined to share his experience while Suho stated that he has no recollection of his first kiss.
