"Arrow" season 5 will soon see Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) facing the villainous character Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman).

In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Wendy Mericle said that Tobias will exist in Star City and Oliver's world because of the latter's own doing.

"The villain is somebody Oliver unwittingly created in season 1 when he was a killer in a hood. This guy is going to be collateral damage who lost someone to the Hood and has spent the last several years training and plotting for revenge. He will be a true dark mirror to Oliver Queen," Mericle said.

Upon hearing this, Amell told Variety that the villain that will be introduced in the series can only be part of the show starting the fifth season.

"I've heard that our big bad, our villain, is something that you can really only do once you're in the fifth, sixth or seventh season of a TV show," he hinted.

At the time of the interview, Mericle still didn't reveal the name of the character, but said that he will be the biggest villain this coming season.

IGN previously described the villain as "an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command."

At that time, the publication also confirmed that the villain will first be seen on the show in the premiere episode.

Last month, "The Walking Dead" alum Coleman shared a link to the publication's article via his Twitter account.

"Happy to be on board, @CW_Arrow! #Arrow #twd," he wrote alongside the link.

Meanwhile, Coleman previously played the role of Tyreese in the hit AMC series. He also starred in "The Wire" as Dennis "Cutty" Wise.

Other projects include Syfy's "The Expanse" where he gave life to the character of Col. Frederick Lucius Johnson and History's "Roots" where he played the role of Mingo.

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
