Two old names are headed back to the WWE with reports that Shelton Benjamin and Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) have agreed to new deals. Following the WWE brand split, the company is now looking at old names to add to the roster of both shows.

Word of Benjamin and MVP’s return to the WWE was revealed by former general manager Teddy Long. Long appeared on the Gerwick Report podcast to give his take on the recent WWE brand split and the WWE draft that took place earlier this week.

The former SmackDown general manager revealed that he recently spoke with the two-time United States Champion and MVP confirmed that he had already signed a deal. He is currently undergoing the proper medical by doctors before being cleared to return to the ring.

As for Benjamin’s return, such was confirmed by MVP as well though there were no details and specifics on when 41-year-old wrestler would be making his return official. MVP left the WWE in 2010 and has had stints in the New Japan Pro Wrestling circuit and TNA, according to Wrestlezone.

Benjamin was released by the WWE also in 2010 and eventually made his way to Ring of Honor. Together with long-time tag partner Charlie Haas, both would win the titles twice. After ROH, Benjamin moved on to New Japan Pro Wrestling and then NOAH.

Benjamin and MVP are among the names believed to be on the list of names being recalled by the WWE. Other notable names include Jinder Mahal and Melina, according to Wrestlingnews.co.

Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy are two high profile names also being mentioned though it may take some time before either could consider a WWE return. Angle is using his time off to heal his knees while Hardy is still under contract with TNA.

Both have been long rumored for possible WWE returns though Hardy could make the jump by Feb. 28, 2017 once his TNA contract expires. But this would depend on the offer on the table.

The WWE is looking to add old names to their rosters but are allegedly offering low offers. A prime example is Carlito who turned down a return because the deal was too low, Wrestling Inc. reported.
