Open auditions for "Cheese In The Trap" film are taking place in South Korea and China in early August. The production companies behind the upcoming joint Korean-Chinese project is planning to hold open auditions to find the perfect actress to play the lead role opposite actor Park Hae Jin, 33.

Speaking before a group of reporters on July 22, Friday, representatives from the Korean production company, Mountain Movement Story, announced that they will be holding public auditions for the female role of Hong Seol. They will begin the first round of the application procedure in early August.

"The webtoon 'Cheese in the Trap' has been a huge hit in Asia amid the success of its TV drama version aired in January," The Korea Times quoted the representative from the production company as saying. "Therefore, we decided to find the female lead through an open audition, which will be simultaneously held in China and Korea."

It is important to take note that applicants are limited to those who are currently working as an actress or have acting experience in the past. The interested Chinese and Korean actresses will have to go through three rounds of selection process.

Interested participants can apply for an audition through the official websites of Mountain Movement Story and its Chinese partner, Hanwei, from Aug. 1 to 15. A preliminary video interview will select 30 candidates, while 10 among the group will be singled out through another live audition in South Korea.

The lucky actress will then play the lead in the upcoming "Cheese In The Trap" live-action movie and land a one-year endorsement deal, as well. One of the top 10 candidates will be cast as Hong Sul's friend, Nam Joo Yeon.

Based on webcomic "Cheese in the Trap" by Soon Ggi, the upcoming film depicts the delicate relationship between a female student, Hong Seol, and her senior named Yoo Jung (Park). With "Architecture 101's" PD Lee Dong Ho helming the project, the production crew will start shooting the film in early 2017.

"After numerous debates regarding the creation of webtoon 'Cheese in the Trap' as a movie, we've come to a decision to produce 'Cheese in the Trap' as a Korean-Chinese' film," HNS HQ said in a press statement obtained by All K-pop. "[The] Mountain Movement Story has entered into a contract with Soon Ki, the creator of the original webtoon."
