The next flagship, Samsung Galaxy S8, improves its functional through the second display that contains input devices, sensors, antenna devices and charging pads. Additionally, the patent filing also revealed an inclusion of pen, ultrasonic input, projector and biometric, gesture and UV sensors, Science World Report has learned.

Aside from the aforementioned features that elevate Galaxy S8's user-experience, the upcoming device claims an improved iris scanning technology and the new kind of triple-camera system.

As per the same publication, the new triple-camera system scans and approves the user's iris, eye structure and facial features to accurately recognize the person trying to access the system. However, the report emphasizes that if in case the iris recognition system does not recognize the user's physical data, it will issue a voice message with guidance on the display to retry the scanner.

This new feature, which debuted in Galaxy S7, will be supported by the triple camera system.

As per the patent published, "the first lens may include two narrow-angle lenses having narrow angles of view to expand and capture images of regions of the eyes of the user. The second lens may include a wide-angle lens having a wide angle of view to capture an image of the face of the user. The first lens may be a zoom lens, and the second lens may be a short focal length lens. That is, in some embodiments, the iris recognition device may obtain images for recognizing the iris of the user using three lenses."

Samsung filed their US patent application back in November 2015 and one year earlier in Korea. Considering that this is a patent application, the timing of such product to market is unknown at this time, although rumors are circulating that the device's release date will be in April 2017.
