NVIDIA has just announced their new Pascal-based Quadro P6000 which packs in 12 TFLOPs of computer performance and 3840 CUDA cores, stumping even the recently unveiled GTX Titan X that also surpasses the GTX 1080.

However, the new NVIDIA Quadro P6000 is not simply just for gaming. The GPU is designed with high-end workstations in mind such as those in the multimedia industry specifically for using CAD applications and heavy video editing.

NVIDIA's new Quadro P6000 GPU was just unveiled at SIGGRAPH in Anaheim, California. Unfortunately, the company did not announce the price and release dates of the new video card.

The NVIDIA Quadro P6000 GPU also beats the GTX Titan X in other specs besides the number of CUDA cores and TFLOPs. While the NVIDIA GTX Titan X has 12GB GDDR5 memory, the Quadro P6000 GPU has an even more impressive 24GB of GDDR5X with 432GBps for the bandwidth, PC World has learned.

It could even be more capable of 4K content as the Quadro P6000 supports 4K screens at 120Hz and the obscure 5K at 60Hz. Those who have large 4K screens at home can certainly benefit from the new GPU from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA has also announced the Quadro P5000 GPU with 16GB GDDR5X and could be an option for those who are still on a budget, Anandtech reported. It also has lower powerdraw at a TDP of 180W compared to the Quadro P6000's 250W but those could be insignificant for workstation builders.

The pricing could still be in the thousand-dollar range considering that the current M6000 based on NVIDIA's previous Maxwell 2 GPU architecture costs $5000. NVIDIA's Quadro cards are simply not for the average PC gamer.

NVIDIA's new Quadro P6000 and P5000 GPU are designed for those who work at the film and video games industry. Game studios who are working on VR games for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift could also benefit from the new cards as it would make their work faster.

The new cards do not have a price yet but NVIDIA is expected to unveil the Quadro P6000 and P5000 availability after AMD announces their own line of workstation cards. Interested buyers would need to shell out thousands of dollars at least to get the new cards more powerful than the GTX Titan X and the GTX 1080.
