Shenzhen-based phone manufacturer Gionee recently launched in Beijing a new line of smartphones that are designed for people engaged in business.

On Tuesday, two M flagships were shown to the public. These units have a built-in security encryption chip and dual-charging chips.

Liu Lirong, chairman and president of Gionee Communication Equipment Co Ltd, said that in the fierce competition among Chinese smartphones, "brand differentiation" is important.

He said, "By targeting business users who prefer to use handsets with long battery life and efficient privacy protection features, we invented the new M6 and M6 Plus to meet the pain points of our consumers."

William Lu, president of Gionee India, explained that the main feature of the phones is the security encryption chip that secures personal data and encrypt calls and SMS.

The phone manufacturer promised that the M6 and the M6 Plus have a longer battery life. Aside from them being packed with a 6020mAh battery, the phones' components are all energy-efficient.

Gionee said that the new units are using energy-efficient chips and display and a smart power management system. They are running the Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Amigo OS 3.2.

The M6 will be available by Aug. 6, 2016, while the M6 Plus will be available on Aug. 13, 2016. They will be sold for 2,699 yuan and 2,999 yuan, respectively.

Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. is one of the big phone manufacturers in China. In 2012, they declared a 4.7 percent market share. They already have expanded to Taiwan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, the Philippines and Algeria.

They started designing smartphones in 2010. They launched the Gionee Elife S5.5 in 2014, which had a body only 5.5 mm thick and was called the "slimmest smartphone in the world."
