Robert Van Winkle, popularly known as Vanilla Ice, has been released from police custody after being nabbed for allegedly breaking and stealing from an abandoned home in Florida.

The veteran rapper rumored to in "Sharknado 3" with Ian Ziering said the arrest was "a misunderstanding" and "it will all be cleared up." Local police authorities said the hip hop artist was renovating a home next to the victim's, USA Today reported.

Items such as furniture, heater, and bicycles were missing from the foreclosed property in the South Florida town of Lantana over the past few months, NBC News reported.

After the owners alerted authorities, police executed a search warrant and recovered some of the items at Ice's home in Palm Beach County.

In an affidavit, Ice admitted he told everyone in his production team that he purchased the house even if such deal never happened.

Soon after his release from police custody, Ice told reporters, in a report, that "it was blown out of proportion".

"It's sad that good news doesn't travel this fast", Ice added.

Ice currently stars in a home-improvement reality show aptly named the "Vanilla Ice Project" on DIY Network.

"DIY Network has been made aware of this situation and is currently looking into the matter," network spokeswoman Lynne Davis told USA Today in a statement.

Ice is considered one of the few most popular white rappers back in the day. His single, "Ice Ice Baby" sold 15 million copies since it was released in 1990.

In 2008, Ice had a run in with authorities after he was nabbed for domestic violence. He was also jailed back in 2001 for domestic dispute.
