Hollywood observers are waiting for the deposition of actress Amber Heard which would be estranged husband Johnny Depp’s opportunity to prepare for their courtroom battle in the acrimonious divorce case of the ex-couple.

TMZ reported that because the estranged couple could not agree on a date for Heard’s deposition, the judge set it for Aug. 6, next Saturday. On Tuesday, Depp’s legal team met in court for an emergency meeting to settle the vital issues in the divorce proceeding.

Without a deposition, Depp said he would have difficulty defending himself versus the domestic violence accusation of Heard. The lawyers of the 53-year-old actor insisted her accusation of Depp being violent toward Heard is totally without merit.

He stands to lose not only in the divorce case but also risks his credit, despite the actor having an estimated net worth of $400 million. Heard got a temporary restraining order in May, following her accusation of Depp’s alleged physical violence. If Heard wins and gets a permanent restraining order from the court, it would appear on Depp’s future credit checks, reported Express.

The Aug. 6 deposition date would appear to solve the availability problem of Heard who can only fly back to Los Angeles on weekends because she is in the U.K. filming “Justice League,” an upcoming superhero film. Heard is rumored to be dating Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The ex-couple, who married in February 2015 in Depp’s private island in the Bahamas after three years of dating, are believed not to have a pre-nuptial agreement. They met in 2009 on the set of “The Rum Diary.”
