"Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner landed her epic role of Sansa Stark at the age of 13 through her school. The actress recently revealed that she gave the audition for the role in her school only when the HBO drama's crew visited there looking for young acting talent.

Turner was speaking on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter' podcast when she revealed that how she discovered acting through classes that initially served her as a form of daycare. The actress, who started acting in local productions when she was just 3 years old, recalled how her  drama teacher "just threw [her] in with a bunch of [her] other friends and [they] all auditioned together" over their lunch period.

Turner turned out to be one of the seven finalists. After a few auditions, she ultimately won the part. Recalling the moment, the actress said that the news was broken to her one morning by her mother who woke her up with the greeting, "Good morning, Sansa."

However, despite landing the leading role, Turner declared that her life did not change overnight since nobody was sure whether the show would gain popularity or not. In fact, it was by the end of the third season that the show actually gained momentum and people started talking about it.

Talking about her character's evolution, the 20-year-old actress gushed that she has seen Sansa as a force to be reckoned with since the beginning. She was sure that her character will finally evolve as a strong player who will use all the knowledge she has soaked to her advantage.

Turner's character famously played a key role in "Game of Thrones" Season 6's crucial episode, "The Battle of the Bastards,"  thus, helping her half-brother Jon Snow to claim the title of King of the North. However, while talking at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, the actress did not seem much hopefull about Jon's coronation.

"I'm not sure Sansa believes Jon is capable of running Winterfell in the North," Yahoo! News quoted the actress as saying. "He doesn't have the intellect, the knowledge, the experience that she has."
