"Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) told the love story of Captain of a South Korean Special Forces unit and Dr. Kang Mo-yeon. At the same time, the show focused on Dae-young and Myeong-ju's romance.

As the show returns, fans are hoping to see more of their favourite couples. However, rumours suggest that the storyline for "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) Season 2 will shift its focus a bit.

According to Movie News Guide, the upcoming instalment may not follow the events of Season 1. Fans will remember that the show had an open ended ending. The entire team came together to save lives after a volcanic eruption.

However, "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) Season 2 is rumoured to feature Si-jin and Mo-yeon's, popularly known as Song-Song couple, wedding. Speculations are that the show will reportedly introduce a "different storyline." Fans can expect a change in the backdrop as well. The show may no longer revolve around characters' military lives.

Per the rumours, Song Hye Kyo and Song Jong Ki may not return for Season 2. Instead, the show will delve deeper into Dae-young and Myeong-joo's romance.

Previously, in an interview, "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) writer Kim Won Suk said that he has no plan for a second season.

"I've already told the story I wanted to tell. I hope that Yoo Si Jin will lead a happy life in the future without any more trouble," Won Suk said as quoted by Soompi.

In other news, "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) Season 1 is set to premiere in the Philippines, according to FX News Call. After China and Japan, the Song Joong Ki and Song Hye-kyo starrer is set to go on air in the Philippines. The premiere date has reportedly been set.
