Sasha Banks is the reigning WWE Women’s champion following her triumph against Charlotte at WWE Monday Night Raw. Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley arranged the match to see if “The Nature Girl” truly deserved the title.
Just like her feat at WWE Battleground 2016, Banks locked up Charlotte again with her patented ‘Bank Statement’ finisher and won. And like most newly crowned champions, WWE was expected to provide the additional push.

One notable push was seeing Banks featured on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers magazine. Ideally this would not be a big deal. Unfortunately WWE legend “Road Warrior Animal” took exception, believing that it was another WWE ploy to force someone on the fans, according to PWMania.
The WWE has been criticized for pushing individuals to the fans as of late. The last one was Roman Reigns who didn’t exactly fit in well with the WWE Universe.
“Animal” questioned through his Facebook account on how much the WWE paid the publication to place Banks on the cover. Ironically, “Animal” aka Joseph Michael Laurinaitis is one of nineteen former WWE stars suing the WWE for brain injuries, Bloomberg reported.
On whether the dish of “Animal” was tied up to that lawsuit remains unknown. But as far as the WWE is concerned, the crowning of Sasha Banks is one that falls along the lines of the 'new era' the company has been preaching.
Banks’ feat at the first Monday Night Raw edition was historic following the WWE Draft. The show also saw former NXT champion Finn Balor getting the push, overcoming Reigns. The win booked "The Demon" a date with Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam for the newly created Universal title.

Moving forward, it is likely that Banks will end up defending the title against Charlotte. If not the former champion, Dana Brooke could be given a title shot or maybe even Nia Jax. To date, nothing has been revealed for the Women’s championship.
