Fans will have to wait much longer than expected before they can see the eagerly anticipated pair-up of Park Bo Gum, 23, and Kim Yoo Jung, 16. KBS 2TV just announced that the new drama series, "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds," will not kick off on Aug. 15.
On July 28, Thursday, the show's producers told Top Star News that the much-awaited premiere of "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" has likely been delayed. They added, "The first broadcast was supposed to air on August 15 but the date has become fluid due to the Olympics."
According to the show's producers, viewers should expect the premiere episode on Aug. 15 as planned or a week after that, Aug. 22. It is important to take note that the upcoming "Rio 2016 Olympics" will start on Aug. 6. Hence, it is strongly speculated that Aug. 22 is a more favorable air date for the drama.
Based on Yoon Yi Soo's popular webtoon "Gooreumi Geuirin Dalbit" (2013-2014), "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" recounts the coming-of-age story of Lee Yeong (Park) and his brewing romance with his eunuch, Hong Ra (Kim). The 18-episode drama is set during the 19th-century of Joseon Dynasty.
"It's a coming-of-age story set in the Joseon period, for which no historical records remain," a representative from KBS said in a statement obtained by The Korea Herald. "We expect Park to successfully portray Hyomyeong's growth from youth to a revered Joseon leader."
The drama also stars B1A4's Jinyoung as the charming and poised scholar, Kim Yoon Sung, who has a hostile relationship with Lee Yeong. "Cheer Up!" actress Chae Soo Bin has also been cast to play Jo Ha Yeon, who was chosen as royal consort for Lee Yeong.
Aside from the aforementioned characters, actors Kwak Dong Yeon, Kim Seung Soo, Cheon Ho-Jin, Jung Hye-Sung, Han Soo Yeon and Jang Gwang have also been given respective pivotal roles in the drama. It is directed by Kim Sung Yoon and Baek Sang Hoon based on a script penned by Kim Min Jung and Im Ye-Jin.
"Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" will air every Monday and Tuesday on KBS 2TV. Check out the trailer below:
