Netflix once again delivered a nail-biting suspense thriller that has kept fans hooked. "Stranger Things" has gone on to become a massive hit, and fans are clamoring for a second season. In response to this, the show has revealed that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will be a sequel.

Executive producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen announced that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will feature the same characters and introduce a new set of characters. There certainly are a lot of questions left, and many of that will be answered as the story goes further in the next season.

"Things end up being resolved to some extent at the end of Season 1, but not entirely. And that's why we're so hopeful we get another few seasons to live with these people a little longer," Levy told /FILM.

Among the mysterious that will be explored is the 30-page document introduced in the first season. More of the contents of the document will be revealed in "Stranger Things" Season 2, especially with respect to where the monsters are from and what their motives are.

The "Stranger Things" Season 1 was a massive masterpiece in itself, with the story focusing on the disappearance of Will Byers and the quest to find him. The day after he vanished, a mysterious girl with telekinetic abilities appears and helped Will's friends find him. In the season finale, when Will returns from the Upside-Down, things turn out great, but not for long. He coughed up some black goo, which indicates that he might have been contaminated by whatever was in that alternate dimension.

In connection with this, creator Matt Duffer said that the effect of this presumed contamination will be explored in "Stranger Things" Season 2. However, although the creators and producers of the show have planned an idea for "Strangers Things" Season 2, a renewal hasn't been drafted by Netflix for now.

Speaking to E! News, Duffer revealed that they will do "Stranger Things" Season 2 if Netflix orders it. "There's the bigger mythology behind what happened, so there's definitely a lot of dangling threads at the end...if people wanted it and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the storyline."
