Huawei's new Honor Note 8 could be one of the leading contenders against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as it sports a larger 6.6-inch screen with 2K resolution for a high DPI count.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 has one of the largest screens for a phablet and it does not sacrifice the quality of the display at it has a 1440p resolution screen which is usually reserved even for smaller-sized screens. In terms of the DPI count, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would still win as it is expected to have only a 5.8-inch screen with the same resolution.

One 4500mAh battery will power the Huawei Honor Note 8 to keep it running all day despite the large screen and heavy use, TechRadar has learned. Users would probably have to charge the phablet once a day or once every two days if they would only use it sparingly.

There are no soft touch buttons on the Honor Note 8's front as users would have to make do with the virtual buttons to navigate through the menus. It does fit the design well considering that it has a large screen which could improve the overall viewing or gaming experience of the user.

Huawei's Honor Note 8 has an octa-core Kirin 955 processor with 4GB Ram, NDTV reported. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is speculated to use only a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset for the international versions and probably their own Exynos processors for local ones.

There will be several variants of the Honor Note 8 which would range between a 32GB up to 128GB of internal memory but it will still support expandable storage through microSD cards. The rear camera will pack 13 megapixels while the front one will have an impressive 8-megapixel shooter.

Unfortunately, the Huawei Honor Note 8 will run the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version and not the highly anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat version which will be the base OS of the upcoming LG V20. Users will be glad to know that the new phablet will accept two nano sim cards so that different carriers can be used.

Huawei's Honor Note 8 price will run from around $350 for the 32GB version and $420 for the 128GB version. It would be certainly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
